Peninsula State Park

Peninsula State Park

This is one of Wisconsin's largest state parks that boasts 3700 acres and 8 miles of Green Bay shoreline.  They have miles of miles of bike trails for the whole family.

Sunset Bike route (9.6 miles):  Starting near the Fish Creek entrance to the Park, the fine gravel on the relatively flat Sunset Trail accommodates bicycles, wheelchairs and hikers. The trail traverses Weborg Marsh, cedar and maple trees and cliff communities. The Sunset Bike Route connects to a return route at Nicolet Beach, for four additional miles on the Park's scenic back roads. Remember to use extreme caution on all hills and curves, and always ride single file. Adult and youth bike rentals are available in Fish Creek and at the Nicolet Beach concession stand.

Off-road biking trails:  Off-Road Bike Trails traverse 12 miles of rugged, unsurfaced terrain in the park's interior. Bicyclists who use off-road trails must be equipped and prepared to take on the challenge. State trail passes are required for riders age 16 and older.

Newport State Park

Being Wisconsin's only wilderness-designated state park makes Newport a great place to visit or camp at while on vacation. They have many trails through-out their 2400 acres and have 11 miles of Lake Michigan shoreline as well.  All of these trails are designated for hiking and off-road biking.

Europe Bay/Hotz loop trail (7.0 miles): This trail begins at the picnic area and goes to the northern part of the park to three campsites and Europe Lake.

Newport loop trail (5.0 miles): This five-mile loop trail begins at the picnic area and travels to the southern part of the park with access to campsites.

Rowley's Bay loop trail (4.0 miles): This four-mile loop trail connects to the Newport loop and travels to the southern part of the park with access to campsites.

 

Potawatomi State Park

This 1300 acre park located on the shores of Sturgeon Bay has trails for biking, hiking, many activities in the winter.  

Off-road bike trails (8.0 miles): Off-road bike trails travel eight miles through the park on varying terrain. Parking for the trails is available in Parking Lot 1 near the picnic areas along the shoreline.

Road Biking:  Biking is allowed on any of the roads in the park and does not require a trail pass.

Ahnapee State Trail

The Ahnapee State Trail is a multi-use trail. It is used by people who travel its length in multiple ways. In the summer some people walk, some jog or run, some ride bicycles, and some ride horses or drive horse drawn wagons, buggies, or carts. In the winter snowmobiles and cross-country skiers share the trail.
